Campaign for a Carbon-Neutral Neighborhood
We are at a transformational moment, a tipping point. HAND has adopted a goal of reducing the neighborhood carbon footprint and has approved the Campaign for a Carbon-Neutral Neighborhood. Through dissemination of information, increasing the sharing of goods and skills, neighborhood organizing, and filtering land use and Board issues through ecological, social, and economic sustainability perspective, we will align our neighborhood’s interests with the goals of neighborhood, regional, and global resiliance.

Get involved!
We are all here to facilitate the creation of a more resilient, sustainable community. HAND Neighborhood Association meetings are the first step in learning about how individual, local, regional, and national issues are affecting the place you live, and a forum in which to learn about and get involved in the many exciting projects already underway in the community. Contact ethan at ethan@handpdx.org for more information!
And, as always,
In order to lower our energy usage community-wide, we are currently targeting 3 main areas: transportation (including Think Local!), home energy consumption, and increasing the vitality of green space.
