As we discussed at last month’s Green Team meeting, without legislative relief championed by Oregon’s Congressional Representatives in Washington, the 2006 federal Long-Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (LT2) will force Portland to build an additional Bull Run treatment plant and either bury or cover the five open reservoirs at Mt. Tabor and Washington Parks, or disconnect them and use alternate storage elsewhere. This will result in higher water rates, and degrades our pristine water supply system.

Please attend the meeting at Glencoe Elementary this Saturday to hear what is being done and what needs to be done to advance legislative relief.
